For this weeks blog assignment I chose to explore the European Early Childhood Education Research Journal
I looked through their latest issue and found the topics included early childhood professionals, parents, child development, program quality, and ECE policy and practice.
I was able to find several articles that would add to my literature review for my research simulation. Offering more up-to-date information with regards to play and social competence during early childhood!
One in particular was "Quality of Play, Social Acceptance and Reciprocal Friendship in Preschool Children" by Coelho et al. This article focused on the relationship between play behaviors and children's social acceptance and reciprocal friendships. The study found that there was a strong correlation between positive play behaviors and social acceptance and reciprocal friendships.
Additionally, I found out that the Walden Library has access to this journal! If I were you, I'd take a look through the last couple issues to see if there may be some additional resources for your research simulations!
Hi Amy,
ReplyDeleteI also chose the same link to do my research for this week's blogs. I do not think I used any of these journal articles for my literature review, but seems like a great idea to search for them for my research simulations on this journal. I agree that it was easy to access the articles from the Walden Library, but found it helpful that their twitter account also shared free articles if I was not a student in the future.
Hey Amy,
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to take a look at this site as well. Did you see anything about specific forms of play, such as gross motor activities? I've been looking for more articles pertaining to my specific simulation, so I will check it out. I reviewed the Early Childhood Australia website and it was really informative as well.
Thank you for sharing more great resources. :)

Hi Amy
ReplyDeleteSeems like a great website to research and explore. Parent Development is very important as well as the child early childhood education. It is very important to observe and notate a child's play behavior to understand more about the individual child and how they engage and interact with others. Great Blog
Hello Amy
ReplyDeleteYou did a good job summarizing important points from the website. I always find it interesting to see what other countries are doing to better the education for their young children. It was fun learning about each website.
